The highest ski resort in Europe, Val Thorens sits at 2300 metres. The purpose-built resort enjoys a traffic-free centre and ski-to-door. Val Thorens makes up part of the Three Valleys ski domain.

The area is best suited to beginners and intermediates for its range of blue and red runs, but expert skiers will enjoy the heli skiing, the challenging moguls of the Cime de Caron and La Masse, and off piste on the Chaviere and Peclet glaciers. Snow boarders are also well catered for with a snow park and half pipe.The resort is connected to the neighbouring towns of Courchevel and Meribel.

Non-skiers can enjoy the sports centre, gym, swimming pool, sauna, paragliding and walking trails. Evening skidoo rides are popular so too are nights out at the cinema, with its range of English films.

Les Temples du Soleil is located in the newly developed, lower area of Val Thorens, at the foot of the slopes offering ski in/ski out possibilities. Val Thorens ski area has 170 km of pistes – 68 runs: 7 black, 27 red, 25 blue and 8 green. The 3 Vallées ski area has 600km of pistes – 336 runs: 33 black, 123 red, 128 blue and 52 green and 130km of runs of cross-country skiing. There are many links to Les Menuires, Courchevel and Meribel. Les Temples du soleil is just 500m from the resort centre where you'll find leisure facilities such as a sports complex with tennis courts, swimming pool, well being centre with sauna, Turkish bath and jacuzzis as well as shops restaurants and bars. Les Temples du Soleil boasts it's own wellness areas with saunas, jacuzzis and weights room as well as a children's play area, mini market, bar, restaurant, sports shop and launderette. Les Chalet du Soleil is made up of 4 buildings - all have lifts and ski lockers. All apartments have a fully equipped kitchen area (fridge; microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle), bathroom, Separate toilet, television, vacuum cleaner, Balcony or direct access outdoors. 1 bedroom apartments for 4/5 consist of a living area with 2 single sofa beds & 1 pull-out bed and 1 bedroom with bunk beds & 1 single or 1 bedroom with double.
