The traditional Austrian village of Kaprun makes up part of the Europa Sport region. This year-round resort boasts the Kitzsteinhorn glacier and 130 kilometres of pistes. With many pistes set at 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is particularly popular in Kaprun for its guaranteed snow.

Skiing in Kaprun is mainly for beginners and intermediates with its good selection of red and blue runs. There is also 18 kilometres of cross-country trails. Advanced skiers have to take a bus to Zell. Snow boarders can enjoy the snow park.

Those seeking more varied terrain can travel to Saalbach and Schladming. From Kaprun, you can also access the slopes of Kitzsteinhorn and Zell am See. This traditional Austrian village is lined with restuarants, hotels and apartments, but the atmopshere is more relaxed than some of its neighbouring resorts.
