Playa de Esquinzo
Set on the southeast coast of Fuerteventura, is the small resort of Playa de Esquinzo. Holidays in Playa de Esquinzo are known for their secluded setting and laid-back atmosphere. The beach is packed with fine golden sand and bordered by large rocks. Playa de Esquinzo has been awarded a blue flag for cleanliness and is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and romantic strolls.
Sun worshippers can bronze on the sun beds while the braver tourists shed their clothes and head to the designated naturist sections of the beach. More active visitors take boat trips around the coast. Holidays in Playa de Esquinzo are particularly popular with surfers during low season due to the strong westerly wind.
Playa de Esquinzo is a five miles, (eight kilometres) north of the neighbouring resort of Jandia, where visitors can spend the day on the more spacious 20-mile, (32-kilometre) stretch of sand. Holidays in Playa de Esquinzo include other activities such as hiking and biking in Jandia National Park, visiting the traditional Spanish fishing village of Morro Jable, six miles, (10 kilometres) away, or enjoying a fun day out at the Oasis Animal Park, with its wide range of animals and even camel rides.
