Cala 'n Blanes Holidays
Nestled on the west coast of Menorca, is the popular resort of Cala'n Blanes. Some argue Cala'n Blanes has merged with its neighbours, Cala'n Forcat and Los Delfines, to form the largest tourist resort on the island. Holidays in Cala'n Blanes centre round the beach, with its fine sand, safe swimming and choice of water sports, including snorkelling, diving and windsurfing. Afternoons can be whiled away enjoying drinks at the beachfront bars and browsing the good selection of shops.
Set 30 miles from Mahon, the island's capital and airport, Cala'n Blanes is surrounded by beautiful rugged countryside. Holidays in Cala'n Blanes are popular with British tourists, particularly families and couples. Accommodation is mainly comprised of self-catering apartments and villas, and as a result numerous supermarkets and multipurpose stores have popped up.
Cala'n Blanes may well be lively by Menorcan standards, but those who come looking for the all-night party atmosphere of Magaluf will be sorely disappointed. There is however an ample selection of cafes, restaurants and bars with live music. Public transport in and around Cala'n Blanes is very good; a mini train runs to all areas of the resort throughout the day. Buses can transport tourists to the beautiful old town of Ciutadella, three miles away. From Ciutadella, regular buses provide links to Mahon.
