Figueretas
Figueretas is known as 'Ibiza Town on the Beach'. Set around a crescent-shaped bay, the resort is small but lively and has its fair share of bars, cafes and restaurants. Some argue Figueretas is the only beach with a genuine claim to being in Ibiza Town. Situated just three kilometres from the island's capital, Figueretas enjoys stunning views of Ibiza old town.
The resort's focus is undoubtedly relaxation and escaping the bustle of Ibiza Town. A palm-lined promenade runs the length of the bay and is dotted with bars and restaurants. Visitors can also browse the market stalls and enjoy the street artists. The 50-metre white-sand beach is by no means the largest stretch of sand on the island, and does have a tendency to get overcrowded, but just around the corner is Playa d'en Bossa's magnificent three-kilometre beach where towel space is generous.
The resort's laid-back attitude and stylish selection of bars and restaurants have proved very popular with upmarket holidaymakers, especially gay travellers and couples, but families are very welcome too. A popular option is taking the bus into Ibiza Town, just a five-minute journey, and dancing into the early hours at one of the many nightclubs.
