Es Cana
The resort of Es Cana boasts one of the largest beaches on the island, measuring approximately 350 metres in length. The stunning crescent-shaped golden-sand beach is set against a backdrop of pine trees and faces two small islands offshore. Rivalling the extensive beach as the resort's main attraction is the internationally renowned hippy market. A tradition dating back to the 1970s, the popular open-air craft market takes place every Wednesday.
Set 12 miles from Ibiza Town and three miles from Santa Eulalia, the lively resort of Es Cana offers a bustling collection of shops, bars, restaurants and late-night entertainment. The resort is particularly popular with families due to the bay's shallow waters and protection from the elements. Water sports include parasailing, waterskiing and wind surfing. There is also a small harbour filled with pretty fishing boats.
The purpose-built promenade stretches to Cala Nova and is perfect for a light stroll. More adventurous walkers can follow the coastal path south to Santa Eulalia or north to Cala San Vicente - along the way taking in the spectacular scenery, exploring the numerous beaches, and stopping to quench your thirst at the many beach bars.
